The Estate

White River Country Estate has grown into one of the best golf course housing estate developments in South Africa. All the ingredients that are necessary for a successful golfing estate can be found here. Forming the backdrop to the White River Country Club Golf Course are magnificent homes situated on generous sized stands. The low maintenance architectural theme of terra cotta roofs, face brick and stone plinths, wooden windows and doors ensure that the homes blend in with the natural environment.

Initially thought of as a resort or weekend retreat, events and circumstances have changed this into an exceptional residential golfing village and retirement investment. The perfect year-round climate makes building a home here good sense, as anyone with a love for the outdoors will testify.

Security:

Security is a top priority and this enables both adults and children to enjoy a wonderful carefree lifestyle. The estate has no walls inside the boundaries, resulting in an open park-like atmosphere where one can take advantage of a late night stroll and other activities presently denied us in metropolitan areas.

The White River Country Club:

The White River Country Estate development is situated around an 18-hole championship golf course and the White River Country Club offers other facilities including tennis, squash, cricket, hockey and swimming, all of which are enjoyed year-round, due to the fantastic climate of the area. Homeowners are encouraged to join at least one section of the club.

Entertainment and Amenities on and near the Estate:

White River has several amenities on offer, the Barnyard Theatre with outstanding shows which change weekly, offered in a relaxed atmosphere where one takes a picnic and enjoys the facilities offered by the in-house bar, a film theatre, several restaurants and pub, catering for everyone's taste. Oliver's Restaurant and Lodge and The White River Lodge are situated on the premises and both offer B&B facilities, and outstanding restaurants. The Riverside Mall Shopping Centre is a mere 15 minutes from the estate, and offers the best of shopping facilities - Woolworths, Pick `n Pay, Truworths, C N A, Game, several music shops, clothing stores, restaurants, etc.

The Private Uplands Prep School and Uplands College:

Uplands Prep School and College offer an outstanding schooling facility for daily, weekly and term borders from Grade 0 to Grade 12. They have the finest extra-mural facilities on their grounds and many other activities such as horse-riding are catered for as well! (www.uplands.co.za)

Long-Term Rentals:

Long term rentals on the Estate are in high demand, and currently there is a waiting list for people wanting to occupy homes. Here, position plays a factor and rentals fetch between R15,000.00 and R25,000.00 per month.

Estate Levies:

Levies are reasonable and payable to the Home Owners Association (A Non Profit company which manages the Estate). This includes security - a perimeter electric fence, security guards at all entrances and a 24 hour patrol of the Estate. It also includes the general maintenance of the Estate, roads, entrances etc, the mowing of each personal garden and the general mowing of all community areas.

Building:

Regarding building a home on the Estate, there is no time limit in which to build and many of our owners have opted to pay off their stands before commencing construction of their homes. The only pre-requisite is that builders are required to register with the Home Owners Association and they also need to be a registered member of the NHBRC.

Owners on the Estate vary from from Corporate Ownership; International Owners (some who have emigrated and others who use their homes for three- six months of the year), young couples with children, retired couples. Our owners all enjoy the lifestyle on the Estate and nearby Lake Longmere, Lake Hulala and Klipkopjie Dam i.e. walking, cycling, mountain biking, windsurfing, fishing, bush adventures, golf and tennis to name a few - we are very fortunate to be able to let our children run free on the Estate and take walks along the road and river without feeling threatened.
