Barbel, kurper (tilapia), carp and bass can be caught in our local Longmere dam, or you can try Klipkoppie, Witklip and Primkop a little further away. All these dams are accessible from the side and do have launching facilities for boats. Entry fees can be paid at the dams when entering.
If you crave the excitement of tiger fishing, you can try on the Komati river about 100km from White River. Riverhill lodge offers boat trips otherwise you can fish from the municipal low water bridge for free. However be mindful of crocodiles and hippos!
